November Spiritual Fitness Day 9

Today is brief. Because I don’t think that there needs to be a lot of chatter over this subject. But it also ties in perfectly with the basis of SPELL Fitness.

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God”

 1 Corinthians 10:31

What I take away from this verse is the idea of moderation, and of keeping God at the focus of everything we do. We are to do pleasing things to Him, pure and holy things. In the same manner, we don’t need to be extreme with anything. There is no biblical reason to restrict ourselves in our diets, or to never enjoy simple pleasures in life. Chocolate, cake, french fries, fast food; I love all of those things! And I think that spending an evening sitting on the couch with a plate full of nachos every now and again is good for the soul!

Granted, we aren’t supposed to damage our bodies, or engage in sinful activities. But as long as we are doing everything with a clear conscious and He our motivation, we are to enjoy this life, while being a witness to those around us by how we live it.
